Hello, Lovely Humans,
Novato High and Marin School of the Arts love love.
This Friday, our ASB will post over 1,200 hearts with each and every student and staff name on one and we will tape named hearts to our bodies, our doors, our whiteboards. During lunch, we’ll play games of love and admiration in the PAC. Some will marry one another or renew vows wearing ring pops while others will fish for complimentary little love notes. We’ll eat chocolate kisses and share Valentines.
All those tokens are great but know what I especially love? Sincere effort. Kindness—both the random acts type and the intentional sort. Trying hard and putting ourselves out there and congratulating others when we see them try hard, too.
In the last couple of weeks, MSA students have won all kinds of awards and contests in just about every department—you’ll be hearing who won what on social media and in this weekly newsletter in the coming weeks. These recognitions are great, but I am even more proud of the collaborative effort it takes to make and present the art—the selfless supportive roles that help our artists shine and the young artists who push themselves to grow.
As we head into mid-winter break, lets celebrate both the effort and the accomplishments.
With so much love for all parts of our sweet communities,
Michelle Cortez
