Fond Farewell to our Artsy Seniors

Hello, sweet MSA Community,

As we say goodbye to the 24/25 school year, we send love, appreciation and well wishes to the graduating seniors and their family members, and a few staff members who have added to our culture and community over the years. Everyone contributes something and hopefully everyone takes something with them that makes each person who passes through MSA feel more creative, more confident, more ready for the next phase of their journey. We appreciate everyone who makes their mark on MSA—young people and adults alike.

Changes can make us feel all kinds of way—a little scared, a little excited, perhaps optimistic or a little dubious. As artists, we learn to embrace ongoing evolution of our interests, our creativity, our relationships and ourselves. We also learn to step up at times, and step back at times, to ask for help, and—when appropriate, to trust the process. Many of our classes and structures will stay the same even as a few staff and students change and we reflect and adjust the content of each class. The MSA teachers and staff care very much about the ongoing evolution of our creative offerings. While we step back and pause a bit over the summer, we also give ourselves a little room and space to think about ways to engage our creative young people, adjust our practices, welcome in new staff and families and return recharged and refreshed in August. We hope you’ll do the same.

With so much love and gratitude for all parts of our creative community,

Michelle Cortez

P.S. There’s one more party you’re invited to before we really leave for the summer—come celebrate a summertime gallery exhibit of MSA artists at the gorgeous Marin Community Foundation in Hamilton.  Hope to see you there!
