Aloha to our Class of 2026

Hello creative community,

Its time to say aloha to our sweet class of 2026.  With a mix of goodbye, we love you, and we are excited for your new beginnings, we send off not only our seniors but also their awesome families who we have enjoyed getting to know and spend time with.  Extra special thanks to our MSA Sparky and Community Sparky honorees senior Dani Contreras Castillo, Hope Blackman, Kristen Schutz, Nicole Towns, and Debbie Hagan for the multiple ways they have served the community and made us better.

One thing that makes it easier to see our seniors graduate is knowing  that many of them will come back to visit, share their wisdom, and inspire the young artists that follow in their footsteps.  That’s what happened on Monday when Kane Parsons came back to share Backrooms and scores of Cinematic Arts alumni joined the party.  We loved every minute of it.  While hordes of students sat rapt in the theatre, Kane and Mr Chidel walked the NHS campus.  Little did we know that during that humble walk, Kane’s movie would reach #1 in the world.  That juxtaposition – the humble walk and talk paired with such a huge accomplishment defines who are – artsy folk striving to balance connection and belong with excellence and achievement.  It’s a winning combo.

With so much love for all parts of our sweet community, Michelle

p.s. New and continuing MSA families – we will send out our last newsletter before summer break next week.  It will be chock full of information, include the first draft of the MSA Directory to make carpool connections, info about the start of year, and calendar dates.  Be on the lookout next Wednesday night!
