Hello, Creative Community,
So many things to love and so, so many ways to stay busy immersed in arts and high school life.
But first we celebrate a few major accomplishments across our programs:
Two teams placed in the top 10% in the 24 hour digital animation contest! Kudos to Mr .Gersh and the 30 students across six teams who stayed up all night to make great animated films. This year we had two teams come in 73rd place out of 750 teams and 80th place out of 750 teams, which is really, really great! These two teams of ours beat out over 600 college/university teams. Hurray and congratulations!
Our own Mr. Chidel won Teacher of the Year for the All American High School Film Festival! This nationwide honor is so well-deserved for the way Chidel challenges and inspires students to understand and make great work. Kudos and congratulations, Mr Chidel!
Back at home, we’ve been celebrating our home and homecoming. Massive kudos to our brand new and already hard working NHS Pep Band! Already with two performances under their belts, our sweet pep band livened up the homecoming game on Saturday and created festive stands this afternoon at the girls flag football game. Check out their video and snapshots below and catch them at their next pep band game time performance on Saturday, November 8 at 2pm during our varsity football game. Kudos, too, to the wide MSA representation on the Homecoming court and to our Intermediate and Advanced MSA dancers who wowed us during the Homecoming Rally.
See what I mean by so many things to love in our creative community? The more the merrier at all these sweet events. See you next week at Big Band Dance?
Warmly,
Michelle Cortez
