Making Magic at MSA

Dear Creative Communities,

We love the way our diverse community makes space for traditions and celebrations of all sorts this time of year. From caroling in multiple languages to lighting trees and candles, to making gifts, reflecting, and setting intentions for a new year, our students and families and communities come together with well wishes, creativity, and love to light the long dark nights.

It’s MSA tradition for MSA students to show off their hard work from the semester in several informal (studio night and soiree) and more formal performance opportunities—check out the calendar. We also mindfully work with our students to balance their academic responsibilities with their creative outlets and personal lives. Next week is “stress-less spirit week” across campus with final assessment week adjusted to help students manage their loads. The final day of the semester is late this year—Thursday, December 21, which is our traditional timing of our alumni soiree and winter market—plenty of time for those alumni to make it home from college!

It’s a lot but our community is strong and generous and supportive and smart and fun to be around—AND we love evolving and mixing our past with our present and future in these holiday get-togethers. We hope to see you at one or many of our sweet celebrations.

With so much love and gratitude for all parts of our community,

Michelle Cortez

P.S. Sincere thank you to those who participated in our micro-giving campaign this year. It’s not too late!  See Foundation News.
