This past Monday, MSA held their first of a series of Town Hall meetings as we kicked off the start of the school year. It was a nicely attended, outdoor event, while attendees wore masks, you could feel the energy and see the smiles in people’s eyes in anticipation of “Back to Campus” school year. The faculty introduced themselves along with our new to MSA program teachers and Michelle Cortez, MSA Director and Assistant Novato High School Principal spoke about rallying together as different communities to support and foster an environment of engagement as one MSA community. Together we are strong, together we are inclusive and together we can support this MSA family.
Dave Winnett, President of the MSA Foundation, welcomed everyone back and encouraged parents to become involved in our MSAF efforts whether by volunteering, giving support financially or both. Small business in our North Bay community were encouraged to take a look at becoming an MSA Business Partner. Also welcoming the parents were MSAF Board members answering questions, signing up volunteers, taking donations, and selling MSA merchandise. In the event you want to volunteer but didn’t get a chance to sign up you can on the MSA website (under the Support MSA menu).
We hope this MSA Town Hall was helpful in providing information and making a few connections with folks in the MSA Community. Also, as Michelle mentioned, the MSA newsletter goes out every Wednesday and you will additionally be able to read it on the website as part of the Directors Message Blog or Shannon’s Notable MSA Blog. Another great resource is our Marin School of the Arts Foundation Facebook Group, our Facebook pages, and Instagram accounts for both MSA and the MSA Foundation. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing your smiling faces soon! In the meantime stay strong, healthy, and look for ways to connect with your student and with MSA.
