Diving into Summer

Hello, lovely humans,

Happy start of summer!

While Shannon and I are still working for a few more days in the NHS library, most of our students and faculty are busy diving into summer. From unrushed and uninterrupted time practicing their artistic discipline like Jacob Egan on his piano to shared experiences visiting deeply artistic foreign lands like lucky Ms. Mancini and Mr. Chidel in Italy with an awesome group of MSA students, our creative endeavors refuel us this summer.

No matter how you are transitioning into summer, know that we’ve got big plans in store for your return in August. We will be trying on new events—like our planned MSA Zip Code parties the first few weeks of school to get to know nearby MSA families (and solidify car pools!). We’ll also continue iterating on what we do well—offering enriched arts experiences so that students can explore their identities, purposes, and passions.

As you ease or dive into summer, consider sharing your artsy experiences—both those close to home and far away. Tag your social media with #marinschoolofthearts or email me directly. We’d love to share your ahas and reflections on our blog. We’ll miss our awesome communities, but we’re excited to rest and carve out quality summer time ourselves. If you need one of us, don’t hesitate to reach out, knowing it may take just a little longer to get back to you.

With love,

Michelle Cortez
