Congratulations to Disa Doan (Drawing & Painting, Product Design, ’26), who won Best in Show at the 35th Annual Rising Stars Showcase hosted by Youth in Arts in San Rafael. With 130 high school student artists participating from across Marin County, the popular adjudicated exhibit features drawings, paintings, photographs, prints, sculptures, mixed media, and digital artwork.
MSA artists were well represented among the awardees, including:
- Tyler Shaw (Photography, Product Design, ’28) – Merit Mixed Media Award
- Kara Schutz (Photography, Creative Writing, ’26) – Merit Photo
- Vida Ferrance (Photography, ’26) – Honorable Mention
- Erick Perez (Sculpture & Ceramics, Product Design, ’27) – Honorable mention
Congratulations to all who participated! The next time you are in downtown San Rafael, the exhibit is worth a visit! The gallery is located at 917 C St. and is open 11am-4pm through April 3.
