Points of Pride this Week

Hello lovely humans,

There are so many pride points to share connected to our creative community this week.

Kane Parsons and Backrooms!  A former MSA student making it BIG time for a fascinating and ARTSY blockbuster – I love all those words together!  And I loved watching it with Cine students and parents last Friday and talking about how thought provoking and visually stunning it is.  AND, on the down low, I love that we can host Kane in a homecoming for a C4A Backrooms showing next week – its just for MSA and NHS – rewatch Monday video announcements for details.

Current student work featuring their peers.  I also LOVE catching and sharing student work that gives me pause.  The latest Tales from the Hive released 11 days ago but I just watched it today.  I love the first story featuring ceramicist Syd Smigielski reflecting on their technique and life in the studio.  And I adore the second story which documents a moment in the last instrumental music concert that felt stunning yet ephemeral. The collaboration between senior Juniper Williard and strings instructor Michael Rennie lives on in this awesome interview.  For incoming students and families, I also highly recommend the Talks from the Hives series especially this one on the daily life of MSA students – its more casual but just as informative and sweet.

I could go on and on sharing the many examples of learning, growth, and artistic achievement but I’d rather experience it WITH you.  Come out this Thursday for our Arts Fest viewing and awards followed immediately by our MSA Senior Awards or catch me any day this weekend closing out the year with digital arts, cinematic arts, or dance.  You never know – we might be celebrating the next Kane or Backrooms in one of these awesome events.

With love for all parts of our sweet community, Michelle
