MSA Arts Spring into Action

Hello Arts Aficionados,

This time of year Novato High and MSA seniors begin announcing their college acceptances and where they plan to go or what they plan to do next year. Many send their decisions to a sweet instagram account along with their baby pictures and their intended majors. It’s a heartfelt moment of the journey that makes us feel proud, excited, and a little sad to see these wonderful humans prepare to fly our creative nest.

Since I started seven years ago, I’ve been especially impressed by the options our MSA students have when making their decisions. So many of our MSA “arts majors” are headed to awesome schools to continue the creative journeys they started with us. Whether they choose to deepen their studies in their MSA arts discipline, like Moira and Lanta, or explore adjacent disciplines, like Robbie and Ivy, or study something all together different, like Parker and Jay, our artsy kids leverage their time growing in MSA to keep creating, communicating, designing, and problem solving beyond high school. We are so impressed and so proud!

With love and respect for our potential, our process, and our outcomes,
Michelle Cortez
