Micros & Minis Deliver Big Ideas

Creative Writing and Drawing & Painting delivered yet again with a masterful collaboration of 100-word micro-fiction with 3-inch illustrations. And the works came to life Sept. 26 in the Center for the Arts, when writers volunteered to perform their works with illustrations projected on the stage. A record of more than two dozen writers performed!

This year a large panel of alumni writers adjudicated the micro fiction to award recognition for writing at each grade level (pictured above). Special Alumni Recognition was given to:

  • CW1/Frosh: “Alone” by Elizabeth Van Alyea
  • CW2/Soph: “trained eye” by Nadia Lichter
  • CW3/Junior (a tie!): “Elsewhere” by Abby Fisher & “happy birthday, little brother” by Jahan Zubair
  • CW4/Senior: “the ladybug at the windowsill” by Jupiter Wilson
  • Workshop: “A Prayer for Protection” by Chloe Gillmer

Visit the exhibit the next you are in the Center for the Arts for an MSA event. Congratulations to all who participated and performed!
