Getting Back into Our Artistic Groove

Hello good people,

Are we leaning into the regular cadences of the school year yet?

With five school days under our belts, we begin to hear the familiar sounds of the music classes warming up and practicing, greet the guest teachers as they return to campus, observe the visual artists and writers brainstorm their first compositions and notice the year-long systems taking shape.

We already celebrate early wins: a set of successful grade level meetings in the Center for the Arts, a gallery exhibition of our teachers self portraits (opening Friday at lunch!), a few wins in various fall sports teams (go Hornets!) and maybe even the completion of the first official assignment in the grade book.

We hope your family and kiddo has shared early wins with you and we hope that you all are feeling connected and happy and proud of the whole experience of Novato High and MSA.

With love for all parts of our sweet community,

Michelle Cortez

P.S. consider celebrating those early wins by joining us for Community Night—bring your lawn chairs or blankets and the whole family for games, food, and a screening of Spiderman on the back of the Center for the Arts.  So. Much. Fun!
