Advanced Drawing & Painting students were introduced to the many layered techniques of encaustic painting recently, when Taylor Mancini’s AP Art teacher Karen Meadows (top center) returned to MSA to teach students about painting with hot wax.
And the possibilities are amazing—from painting with colored wax to layering wax over decoupage images then carving the wax to reveal images below! Students are grateful to discover these new techniques thanks to fabulous teaching artists funded through our MSA Foundation!
