Students Awards Announced for MSA Opportunity & Experience Fund

We are happy to announce MSA students awarded grants through MSA’s Opportunity & Experience Fund this March, 2025. These students exemplified the talent, creative thinking, ambition and focus that MSA instills.

They are:

Grace Underwood Bowler (Product Design,’25), for her product design/exploratory science project involving bio engineering with seeds to bring disease resiliency to vegetables using natural methods rather than chemicals.

Citlactli Castillo-Gonzales (Theatre, ’25), so that she can visit two colleges she has been accepted to for their music theater programs and determine the program and campus that best suits her needs.

Ana Herrera (Theatre, ’25), for the rights to produce a spring play as her senior project in public performances.

Isla Marie Skaggs (Dance, ’28), to help pay tuition for her acceptance to the prestigious New York School of American Ballet’s summer intensive program.

Ayla Tabrizi (Theatre, ’26), to help pay for a potential intensive summer training program where she will study fashion photography and magazine creation and layout as well as create her own portfolio of work.

Our awards varied from a couple hundred dollars to almost $2,000 depending on the project and need of our applicants. Please congratulate Grace, Lali, Ana, Isla and Ayla for their grants and the exciting chapter they are starting in their artistic development. Many thanks to Sharon Morgan Miller and Hope Blackman for helping with the applications and assessments.

There will be one more assessment for grants this Spring with a deadline of April 18. To apply, go to bit.ly/MSAOpportunityFund24. We look forward to helping more talented MSA students achieve their dreams!

Best of luck to all of you for a successful end of the school year,
Elizabeth & Devan Nielsen
