Creativity, flexibility, problem solving, collaboration

Hello dear MSA communities,

I’m so grateful for the many ways we value creativity, flexibility, problem solving, and collaboration.

In artistic spaces (AND extreme heat conditions) all those shared values are essential.  We’ve been pivoting to ensure students and staff are safe and comfortable on campus while also making sure they have access to all the sweet arts experiences we’ve come to expect from MSA.

I’m also proud of the way MSA students are stepping up across campus and applying their creativity in non-art spaces like club leadership, athletics, and our school-wide wellness videos.  Preview next week’s Wellness Video here featuring two awesome MSA visual artists, Jack and Amari, talking about procrastination and tools to overcome it (its adorable and worth the click!)

We hope our parents and community members avoid procrastination when it comes to a few of our upcoming events.  We’ve got my favorite casual on-campus arts event, our first MSA Soiree of the year, Friday, September 16th.  We also have my favorite fall fancy arts event, MSA Divine Wine, in a month on Saturday, October 8th.  (Tickets are now on sale and it WILL sell out – it’s that awesome.) You can volunteer and/or attend one or both of those events and help us create the creative, flexible, problem solving, collaborative and connected culture we all value so much.

Warmest regards, Michelle Cortez
MSA Director/NHS Assistant Principal
