End of Year Hustle

Hello, dear MSA communities,

With four weeks left of our school year, MSA students and staff are busy, busy, busy.

Around campus there is a constant flow of productive activity—gorgeous NHS senior projects blossoming around campus, culminating projects beginning to take shape, and some hustle and bustle to catch up.

MSA teachers are jumping from Showcase wrap up to AP Testing and end of year performances (check the calendar below!). All the while, our whole campus prepares itself for our annual Wellness Week—this year falling within Mental Health Awareness Month.

I especially hope you will consider joining me on Monday, May 16th for a free family screening of Angst, created by a Marin parent and film-maker to address anxiety in our young people today. I love the way the film creates a shared language and offers specific strategies to create an action plan to address anxiety. (You can preview their anxiety tip sheet here and register to attend Monday here.) Even if you feel like you know a lot about anxiety, I encourage you to attend with your kiddo (and friends!) to continue the conversation and help de-stigmatize talk about anxiety and other mental health concerns. PTSA is hosting the event—what a great way to support their work too!  Wellness Week continues with a focus on student voices and perspectives—check out the whole week’s offerings and encourage your artist scholar to take part (if they aren’t already leading a session!).

Since you already have your calendars out, be sure you mark your calendar in PEN for our final Town Hall and MSA Senior Awards Night on June 2. All students and families invited as we celebrate our departing seniors and preview what’s in store for next year. After an all-MSA general meeting and awards, departments will break out for their own kudos and sharing of strategic plans.

Being busy is one thing and supporting each other is another in community is another.  Thank you for all the ways you support our awesome and hard working artist scholars.

Warmly, Michelle
MSA Director/NHS Assistant Principal
