Students Shine in Many Ways

Happy Wednesday, dear MSA communities,

I loved seeing students shine in many capacities in the last week—musicians rocking out at the Sweetwater Music Hall, writers and photographers showing off their insights at Words and Images, artist athletes racing in the pool and on the fields, and artist scholars learning from mentors during visiting artist and festival events. I also love mixing it up with families and community members in all these sweet joyful events. As a mom myself, I love seeing students and their parents connect in these authentic and healthy ways.

Speaking of love, I am SOOOO excited about MSA Showcase this year with the simple and straightforward theme:  We love MSA. Take all those individual events (maybe not the swimming or Hornet Bowl but all the others) and wrap it up in one fun community arts fundraiser and you’ve got Showcase.

We’re at the JCC this year with plenty of room for rock band, product design, vocal music, theatre, dance, instrumental music, and all our visual arts departments to share outdoor and indoor stages.  Tickets are going quickly for this Saturday, April 23 event with a strong likelihood of selling out.  We also have a number of volunteer opportunities available. Let’s share the love of MSA together and catch up on some of those sweet in person vibes we sacrificed in the last few years. Don’t wait too long to purchase tickets—see links below.

Enjoy your well deserved spring break next week.  I’ll be resting up for an artsy, engaged, BUSY April when we return.

Warmly, Michelle
MSA Director/NHS Assistant Principal

p.s. Want to show off Novato High to folks you know?  I’ll be leading 45 minute general school tours in the coming weeks to show off the new development around campus.  See below for more details and/or click here to reserve a spot.
