Hello Creative Community,
It’s the start of a fabulous run of MSA performances. First up we have Instrumental Music (Thursday) —it’s A Night at the Movies. Then Friday night, MSA Vocal Music takes the C4A stage with My Spirit Sang All Day. This weekend, MSA Theatre runs two different shows, DNA and Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, in four total performances in the PAC. Then MSA Rock Band is sure to impress next Tuesday at the Sweetwater Music Hall.
I love the busy-ness of spring performance season and the way all these arts events lead up to MSA Showcase on April 18th. I also love the way visual arts students are ramping up for their exhibitions and AP portfolios as well as pop up interactions at Showcase. MSA is in constant motion, meeting students where they are at and encouraging them to bravely share their creative expression, challenging student performers and creators to grow and strive for excellence. Having robust audiences makes all the difference and rewards our students for their hard work. So please, if you can, buy tickets and show up to any or all of the events. I hope to see you there.
Finally, I’m proud to announce that Novato High has been named a 2026 California Exemplary Arts Awards School for our commitment to excellence and arts for all throughout the MSA program and infused in other classes. We love what we do and we are proud of our program every day but a big honor like this feels good too. If we see each other this weekend at a performance, lets raise a can of bubbly water to our collective accomplishments. Cheers!
With so much love for all parts of our busy community,
Michelle Cortez
