Close to Returning to Normal

I love looking through my camera to remind myself of the awesomeness of our school communities each week. What strikes me now is how close we are to returning to normal. I, for one, am ready for it!

  • More best friends wearing matching t-shirts at senior events!
  • More new students being hugged by their dad!
  • More artsy families doing artsy things together with big huge smiles I can see BOTH in their eyes and sans masks.
  • More getting to know our new spaces on campus and appreciating family volunteers!

While I will miss our seniors like crazy when they graduate in a few weeks, I am beyond excited for our return to school in August.  It’s a return to school that we expect to be a return to normal with year-long classes, a seven-period schedule, in-person office hours and supports, and a campus ripe for collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

What are you excited about for next year?  I’d love to hear from parents or students about what you are looking forward to.  Consider emailing me a short video with your enthusiasm for next school year. I’m putting together an NHS/MSA video to share with the district and, as always, seek your valuable input and joy factor.

With gratitude for the ways we love on our communities and show up for each other,
Michelle Cortez
MSA Director/NHS Assistant Principal
