Hello, beautiful people,
Twice a year, our NHS ASB Leadership hosts club fairs at the beginning and middle of the year giving kids an opportunity to entice peers in joining them in their interests and passions.
I love these inclusive, joyful days! I love all our kids’ club—some quirky, some meaningful, some impressive. It reminds me of something my yoga teacher says: “All of you is welcome here” and I feel that so deeply on days like these.
Something that makes NHS and MSA a special place is this shared value that we honor and celebrate and make space for kids exploring their identity, purpose, and passion—every kiddo and every day in multiple ways. It’s clubs, yes, but it’s also discussions in class and interactions. It’s how we treat each other and an optimistic sense that we can work through both the easy and challenging ups and downs of our days and times. No matter how we process the changing political landscape, there are so many ways to embody justice and inclusion within our locus of control. Club Day is one way we encourage kids to be the change they wish to see in the world—let’s enjoy it!
Thank you for all you do to support students and each other,
Michelle Cortez
