Shout out to all who performed at last week’s music concerts! Vocal and Instrumental presented amazing performances. Jazz and Wind Ensembles were honored to share the stage with guest artists who worked with students in class leading up to the performances.
Dr. Greg Johnson performed with both Jazz Bands, made possible by the Rotary Club of Ignacio. Dr. J, a past MSA Jazz Studies Director, is known for his distinctive saxophone style and compositions with more than 40 mainstream recordings. He currently teaches Jazz Studies at Sacramento State University.
Wind Ensemble had the pleasure of working and performing with Dr. Andrew Harrison, an Indian-American classical saxophone professor at Sonoma State University who uses his distinctive style to create a new environment for classical music, to reflect our lived experience and mixed culture.
