Portfolio Guidelines

Your portfolio will give us an idea of your current skills and willingness to tackle a challenging art form. While Digital Animation can be very technical, the pay off is huge! Please give it a try with the following examples of what we prefer to see in your portfolio.

1. 4-8 samples of work should include:

  • Alter a portrait (photograph of a person) using Photoshop, Illustrator, or some other digital illustration software
. (see note below for link to free software you can use).
  • Take a picture of a fantasy landscape or inside of a building and change it digitally.
  • 2-6 art pieces showing your art work that you are proud of. These can be either traditional painting and drawing mediums or created as digital illustrations.

2. If you do not have access to Photoshop or some other Digital Darkroom Software, you can download SketchbookClipStudioPaint, or GIMP. These are free and function much the same as Adobe Photoshop. You can get a free trial version of Photoshop Creative Suite at adobe.com.

3. All works should be printed 5 x 7 or larger. Please identify each work with your name and phone number.

4. Portfolios are preferred in traditional hard copy form but are also accepted as a digital presentation on your personal device or on a flash drive .
