Get to Know MSA

Marin School of the Arts is a vibrant community of artists, thinkers and innovators who explore and grow together in a dynamic public high school. With 10 different arts programs to choose from and a faculty of professional artists,  there is something for everyone at MSA. Students are part of a family at MSA. We take a holistic approach to arts education and offer students a chance to collaborate, develop artistically and gain confidence in their skills.

MSA students push themselves creatively in a supportive environment, share a common passion for the arts and develop talents that are essential during and after high school, such as critical thinking, confidence and perseverance.

We’ve added a new MSA Tour on Nov. 15!

You may click below to sign up

or if you’d rather, please check out MSA at Preview Night

at NHS on November 8 at 6pm in the NHS Library.

This Preview Night at NHS is a fantastic opportunity to visit all MSA and Novato High School classes to find out more about each course offering, meet faculty and, in many cases, see MSA students working on class projects.

The MSA Tour experience

Family Tours of MSA classes and the Novato High School campus are offered as a first step for prospective students and their parents to find out more about course offerings and the overall, MSA experience.

If you have already signed up for a Tour, please note tours begin at 9:30am in the Novato High School Library with a brief information session with MSA and NHS administrators, followed by a tour of MSA classes in session.

Tours will include visits to several visual and performing arts classrooms to experience the breadth of the MSA experience and help incoming students decide on specific preferences. Time is also made available for participants questions and answers before the tour concludes at 1:00pm.

A reservation must be made to attend an MSA Family Tour Day. Due to scheduling issues, “drop in” tours are not available. MSA will schedule a tour for interested families of 7th grade students in the Spring semester.

Students proudly display their finished Mad Hatter artwork in the NHS/MSA Art Garden.

Does your student want to sign up for an MSA Shadow Day?

After taking a tour of all program offerings, students will have an opportunity to request a more in-depth experience by shadowing a student in specific MSA class(es). Reservation information for Student Shadow Days will be available to families after they have taken an MSA Family Tour.

It is not necessary to tour or shadow MSA in order to apply to our programs.
